History, Heritage, and Religion

At the edge of a cliff, facing a breathtaking panoramic view of the length of the Dead Sea, stands The Masada National Park, one of the most historical, moving and important sites in Israel.

The site, a national symbol of courage, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and hosts some one million visitors a year.

Fascinating archeological remains wonderfully display the royal fortress of King Herod the Great that was also the last stronghold of the Jewish revolt against the Romans.

Take a tour and see the palace’s antiquities, the public baths, the Roman siege works, the system of channels and cisterns used for  accumulating rainwater, and more.

Observe the famous sunset or sunrise from the mountain peak and experience the breathtaking view hiking on the Snake Path or riding in the relaxed, pampering cable car.
